How to use quiet mode on your phone

Keep the prayers, readings, and prayer book without navigating a three-dimensional church. Start with whichever part you need today.

1. Open the words-only view

On the Mood Church home screen, tap Prefer words only? Use quiet mode. If you are already inside the church scene, tap Quiet mode. The words-only page uses ordinary scrolling and buttons instead of walking, dragging the camera, or positioning an avatar. It is free, with no account required.

2. Check your church setting

Tap Change beside the church name to choose Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, or Anglican. These are digital settings, not official parish services. Catholic and Anglican settings use votive candles; Orthodox uses tapers near icons; Protestant uses prayer cards. Quiet mode presents the relevant action as a form rather than a 3D interaction.

Choose a mood under How are you arriving? if helpful. Tap the selected mood again to clear it. You can leave it unset.

3. Read before doing anything else

Scroll to the prayers, or open the Bible reader beside the opening reading. Choose a chapter, such as John 3, rather than a reading target. In the reader, enlarge the text or switch between night and paper appearance. Close it to return to quiet mode.

Complete in-site editions cover 19 of 25 page languages; six languages provide clearly marked original-reader links. There is no silent English fallback or AI-generated Scripture. Supplied editions cover the common 66 books, not every tradition's additional canon books.

4. Submit only what you want to share

Scroll to the candle, taper, or prayer-request form. Both fields are optional: For allows 28 characters and A few words allows 110. For an Orthodox taper, select the living or departed. Leave the fields blank if you prefer an unspoken intention.

  • If you enter words, review the sharing checkbox; sharing starts enabled.
  • Turn sharing off to exclude the dedication from the shared prayer book. Private is not offline: wording checks and some activity still reach the server.
  • Tap Light the candle or Pin it to the board. Wait for confirmation; if an error appears, read it before trying again. No match-dragging or press-and-hold action is needed here.

5. Read the prayer book, then finish

Further down, browse public requests using Newest or Fewest prayers. After praying for someone, tap I prayed to acknowledge the request. Use Report for inappropriate entries. Participation is optional, and no acknowledgement, reply, or prayer outcome is guaranteed. Close the page whenever you are ready.

Before you step inside

Must I return to 3D to finish?

No. Reading, the intention form, and the prayer book work in quiet mode. Walk into the church is optional when available.

Will my Bible bookmark follow me to another phone?

No. Reading progress and bookmarks stay in this browser, separately for each page language. Clearing site data can remove them; private browsing may not retain them.

Is someone leading a live service here?

No. Mood Church is not a live worship or clergy service. Virtual clergy and built-in characters are not live ministers. Contact a trusted church directly for pastoral support.
