Read the Bible online

Open a chapter, follow a reading path, or return to a saved passage without entering the church scene.

Begin with a chapter, not a deadline

Open the reader to choose a book and chapter, or enter a reference such as John 1. The English page offers the World English Bible, British Edition. Complete editions are currently available on the English and Traditional Chinese pages only. Other locale editions are not yet available; their pages show an availability notice rather than silently substituting a different language.

For a starting point, choose the Gospel of John, the Psalms, or a themed path for peace, hope, or comfort in grief. The longer path brings together John, the Sermon on the Mount, and selected Psalms. Its time estimate is a guide, not a requirement. Read a single chapter if that is what you have time and attention for today.

While reading, adjust the font size, switch between night and paper appearance, or use optional automatic scrolling. Save a bookmark to return to a passage. Reading position, bookmarks, and reader preferences are stored in this browser when storage is available; they do not automatically follow you to another device. Clearing site data can remove them. Read surrounding passages for context and bring difficult questions to a trusted Christian community.

  • Choose a book, chapter, or suggested path.
  • Pause to reflect before moving to the next chapter.
  • Bookmark a passage you want to revisit.

Before you step inside

Does changing the site language translate the complete Bible?

No. Interface language and Bible edition availability are separate. Complete editions are available on English and Traditional Chinese pages; other locale editions are not yet available.

Will my bookmarks appear on another device?

Not automatically. The reader saves progress and bookmarks in your current browser, separately by page language. Private browsing or clearing site data may prevent that information from being kept.
